Thing 1a Welcome

My name is Susan Sheffield. I have been teaching 18 years in Marietta, Georgia. This is my first year in the Barrow County School system. I feel like I am a fairly progressive teacher and knowing technology is a great way to engage students in Georgia history, as well as US history. The use of primary and secondary sources off the Internet, including simulations and interactive websites offers kids an opportunity to experience learning in a way that may not be available for many of our kids.

  1. Hi Susan! I'm pleased to have you in the class and Welcome (belated) to Barrow County. I know of a great wiki / blog combination for US history that you might find interesting. http://www.teachthecivilwar.com/ Hope you enjoy the class!

  3. I agree with Del...I love the walking frog. I think that unlike maybe other subjects this type of interactive learning environment may be one that can most definatley be used in history.

  4. Susan,

I love the frog, and of course, I love the puppy, but having that feature on my page would make me so Bi-polar.
